How you respond to this statement distinguishes “great” from “not-so-great” leadership.
Do you find yourself responding with “Awesome! tell me more!”? Great!
Do you find yourself responding with “Don’t worry, we’ve got it...”? Not-so-great.
If your folks are “thinking about” your project, task, or goal; then they are engaged. That’s amazing! The point is: If your people are “thinking,” then revel in it, mine it, and empower it for the next time. If you keep them thinking, you will keep them engaged!
